The Dreadmill

So we has some pretty hellacious thunderstorms last week here in Ohio because of the heat and humidity. I wanted/needed to go running so I got ready and headed outside. I get a few feet from my doorstep and heard thunder and see a crack of lightening.

Now I’m super irritated because I wanna run AND I love to run in the rain! I came back in, grabbed my car keys, and headed off to the gym. I figured I could at least run on the dreaded treadmill. It’s been a long time, but it couldn’t be all that bad. HAHAHA!!!! Boy was I wrong!!! It was horrible !! I made it about 20 minutes before I wanted to die from boredom! I grabbed a treadmill at my gym that faced the window so I could stay apprised of the weather situation .

The skies cleared up a little and no lightening or thunder in the last 20 minutes. So I jumped off that treadmill and out the door I go! It was hot and humid, very humid, but being outside running automatically made it so much better than being stuck on that Dreadmill! I ended up running 40 more minutes for a total of 6.98 miles in 60 minutes. That certainly wouldn’t have all happened of I would have had to stay indoors.

So the moral of my story is that if you, a friend, family member, acquaintance, or complete stranger hates running it may be because they are doing it on a treadmill. Take them for a run with you outside to show them how wonderful and mind clearing running can be!
