I want you to think about what goal you are trying to achieve. Now, get a piece of paper and a pen and write it down. Is your goal to lose 20 lbs? Is your goal to successfully complete a 5K/10K/Half or Full Marathon? Is your goal to be a faster runner? Do you want to be able to lift 100 lbs?
Once you write down what your goal is, you know have something to work towards. Now, put a date on it. How long do you think it will take to achieve that goal?
Alright, so we have what the goal is and a date to achieve it. The important part is creating a plan on how you will achieve this goal. Are you going to get an app on your phone to help you keep track of everything you eat? Are you going to join a running group and have someone teach you how to prepare for the big race? Are you going to push yourself a little harder when running? Are you going to join a gym and get a personal trainer to achieve your weight lifting goal?
Once you have all of the above written down, you want to make sure you actually do this. If you have trouble being accountable for yourself, then get a workout buddy. Don’t think you have time to workout? Well, you are wrong. Grab your calendar and write down your workout at least 3 days per week for the next month. This time is your time. I always say I need ME time. This is how I spend my ME time.
Now that you have all of this written down, take action. Get out there and get it done! It never hurts to workout a little longer, or change your diet to healthier, cleaner food. Remember, once you have achieved your goal, keep going. Don’t just stop, you want to be the best you can be and over achieve those original goals you set for yourself!
