On Monday last week, I woke up and my feet were swollen and hurt so bad. I have come to find out that I need to be drinking more electrolytes especially after long runs. I took a couple days off from running this week to recuperate. I ran some hills on Wednesday at a slow and steady pace. Took off 2 more days and ran my distance run on Saturday morning right after my midnight shift at work. Needless to say, I was 1 tired girl when I was driving to meet up with a group to run. At least I knew that I would be talking to other runners while I ran my distance. I had to run at least 8 miles per my training schedule and I was dreading it. Once I started running I started feeling much better and more awake. I had the longest run ever on Saturday, I ran 10.86 miles. I felt absolutely phenomenal after the run. I felt like I could have ran more. I made sure to drink Gatorade at each of the water stops, as well as when I finished running. I also ate a few peanut butter filled pretzels (YUMM!!) When I got home I drank about 8 oz of dark chocolate almond milk and went to bed. When I got up, I wasn’t sore and I had no swelling. I’m so excited about how far I have come! I have truly exceeded my goals that my mind keeps telling me that I can’t do. I will continue to keep telling those negative voices to SHUT UP!! I can do this and so can all of you!
