So, I have to explain to all of you that I am the type of person that cannot sit still. I am so grateful for this because 50 lbs earlier, I did nothing but sit on the couch. I used to spend my days off eating fast food and sitting on the couch. The thought of just doing laundry exhausted me. Fortunately, I have all the energy in the world now.
On my days off this week I decided some much needed pre-spring cleaning needed done! I started with the refrigerator. This made me laugh because we have had beer in there for about 3 years that apparently expired last year. I thought it was funny because I didn’t know beer expired. I also realized that we don’t really drink much because I don’t like taking in the empty calories and dehydrating myself. So after I got the refrigerator cleaned out, I started on our 2nd bedroom. Boy was this a room to tackle. I have been using this room as storage for junk. So, I went through the room. I had a humongous pile that I threw out. I also had a very nice size pile that I donated to Goodwill. I donated some books, clothing, a TV, and a pair of shoes. After about 4 trips to the trash can, lots of shredding of old documents, and a trip to Goodwill, the room is now usable. It’s funny, I can even open the closet in there without stuff falling on my head.
My final thing to tackle was the dreaded pantry. It’s amazing how much crap I can accumulate in a pantry. The worst was how many dog treats that expired that I threw out. I rarely give my dogs treats. Some of you may disagree, however, I have been working in the veterinary field for 5 years. I started as a receptionist and have moved my way up to being a veterinary technician assistant. I have seen entirely too many obese dogs and saw how many health problems obesity causes in dogs. It’s so very sad to me! I know that an occasional dog treat isn’t bad for my K9 kids, but feeding them multiple treats daily and/or feeding them table scraps is the cause of pet obesity. As many of you know, obesity in people can cause a multitude of health problems; in pets, the same is true.
I did get to enjoy a group run on 1 of my days off that included hill intervals. I have decided that I would much rather run sprints on flat ground than run hills. Hope all of you are having a great week and have got great workouts in!
